My Story

At an early age I was fascinated with nutrition and disease prevention.  My desire was to help prevent pain and suffering from chronic illness. Later in life I discovered that for so many of us this pain and suffering came from grasping at nutrition "rules" to health, leading many to confusion, chronic dieting, self-discontent and disordered eating. I was motivated to learn the science behind nutrition and chronic disease. Along the way I have been guided to a free-flowing style of eating to balance nutrition science. Can we nourish our body and at the same time find the joy of eating?  Yes.  I believe if practiced together in the right balance, we can all enjoy our favorite foods!

I have seen and helped people from all ages, complex chronic disease states, weight loss issues, family nutrition dynamics, sports nutrition and more in counseling and creating nutrition plans that fit. More recently I have been specializing in counseling girls, boys and families with eating disorders or eating issues. You will find me to be a compassionate listener and guide to eating recovery. I have found that even chronic dieting can be in itself, an addiction. My goal is to relieve you from those chains by guiding you on a journey to intuitive eating.

On the side, I love adventuring with my husband and three little boys outdoors. I sing, play the piano, love swimming, hiking and yoga. I am learning to garden in southern Utah. It is quite a challenge. I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen which may at times lead to enjoying a good restaurant too. Food is good and should be enjoyed!
